The Ark Thrift Store

• We provide more than 2500 families with boxes of food annually at no cost to them though our food bank.

• To receive food, please set up an appointment by visiting our facility Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 9:30-10:30 a.m. You will be asked to provide your I.D., proof of residency and proof of income.

• We help men and women that are homeless, struggling with addiction, out of prison or in need of a fresh start.

• This residential, bible-based discipleship program requires a 12 month commitment. 

• The program is free for the first six months and then residents contributes $108 weekly during the second six months. 

• We assist residents with their GED, driver's license, job training, college enrollment, financial responsibility, anger management, overcoming addiction, counseling and more.

The Ark is a place of safety for those in the storms of life. It is a place of hope, healing and help. We are dedicated to the promotion of the Kingdom of God through various Christ-centered, community focused ministries.

Our Programs and Services

The Ark Thrift Store sells quality clothing, shoes, furniture, appliances, and houseware items at affordable prices. Our programs are funded primarily through the sales of our thrift store.  We pick up your donations-food, furniture, appliances, clothing, electronics, etc! Or you can bring your items by for drop-off. Additionally,  we provide families and individuals with clothes, furniture, appliances and houseware items free of charge through vouchers from approved non-profit organizations such as House of Ruth and The Harbor.

We are open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.- 3 p.m.  at 502 Hammond Street.  Call 334-794-7223 or email for more information.


The Ark Sack Lunch Program

As a service to the community and the environment, we accept your old and unwanted electronic devices. Our residents are taught how to disassemble and  recycle the materials so they don't go into a landfill. Any money made off of the parts are put back into our ministry program. This service is offered for free with the exception of tube TV's and monitors, we charge a $1 per diagonal inch. You can come by to drop off your items Monday-Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
