VOLUNTEER WITH THE ARK
What you could do
Without people to staff the many ministries it houses, the Ark is just a building. It is the volunteers
that make the Ark a beacon of hope to hurting people.
If you would like to be a part of a set of ministries that is all about the restoration of lives you will
find that opportunity here. The Ark is about people being changed. It’s about their lives being recycled,
given hope and purpose by the Master builder. We provide OJT training and continuous support to all our
volunteers.
Here are a few of the opportunities available now:
- Cashier
- Cashiers provide quick efficient check out of customers, operate cash register, process customer
payments, bag customer goods, etc. They also greet and acknowledge all customers in a friendly,
professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service. No experience is necessary.
- Sorter & Pricer Clerk
- Sorters & Pricers work with the goods that are donated to the Ark. As goods are recieved they are
placed in storage. Form there they are taken to the sorting room where they are examined, selected,
sorted, and priced. Once priced they are taken to the sales floor. No experience is necessary.
- Bookstore Clerk
- Bookstore Clerks sort, classify, price and shelve books. They also check and streighten books on the
shelves. No experience is necessary but a love of books helps.
- Receptionist
- Receiptionist greet visitors, answer the telphone, take messages, direct people to the appropriate
service, handle correspondence and other such duties. No experience is necessary however an
outgoing personality is a big plus.
- Christian Counselor
- The Ark needs qualified individuals who can counsel with individuals, couples and families that
come to us or help.
- Prayer Partner
- Many, many people come to the Ark seeking prayer. Most come to a formal prayer opportunity
each Thursday. Some have had to wait an hour or more to meet with someone to pray with and for them.
We need you. Please consider serving in this capacity.
- Public Relations Officer
- The Ark needs one or more indivdual that has some experience working with the media, public
officials, civic and service organizations and others that may be interested in our message.
- Electrician
- The Ark is in the process of repairing and remodeling a large part of the facility. We need
electricians to help in this effort. If you are skilled in this area we pray that you will come and
work with us.
- Carpenter
